Schneider Electric recently announced the global launch of the Galaxy VL 200-500 kW (400V/480V) three-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS). It is the latest member of the Galaxy series and will be available worldwide.

In June, there will be an on-site virtual "hands-on" event for data center professionals and partners to showcase the functions and features of the Galaxy VL from the Schneider Electric Innovation Executive Briefing Center.

Galaxy VL is an efficient and compact UPS that provides up to 99% efficiency in ECOnversion™ mode and can provide full return on investment for medium and large data centers and commercial and industrial facilities within two years (depending on the model).

A UPS operating in ECO mode or ECOnversion mode means that it supplies power to the load through the bypass. This allows the high instantaneous current to clear the downstream protection device, but based on the occurrence of the output voltage waveform failure, the system will switch to inverter operation.

Because the data center footprint is very precious, the compact design of the Galaxy VL is only half of the industry average size. Its size and architecture enable data center professionals to use 50 kW power modules to gradually expand the power from 200 kW to 500 kW, thereby providing the flexibility to grow according to business needs.

With the Galaxy VL, Schneider Electric has introduced a real-time switching function, which can add or replace power modules when the UPS is online and fully operational. It provides enhanced business continuity without unplanned downtime. In addition, the touch-safe design of Live Swap provides better protection for employees. They no longer need to transfer the UPS to maintenance bypass or battery operation during the insertion or removal of power modules.

"The new energy-saving Galaxy VL sets a very high standard for UPS innovation. This allows us to always focus on the future needs of the data center and meet the needs for adaptability, flexibility, efficiency and sustainability," Schneider Electric Three-Phase Global Said Mustafa Demirkol, vice president of supply management.

"The newest member of the Galaxy series is the Green Premium product, which provides top performance, supports sustainable development goals, and fills the previous gap in the mid-range power supply market."
