Schneider Electric Solar, Schneider Electric’s solar business unit, announced an important milestone for its latest hybrid inverter Conext XW Pro, which was recently included in the Hawaii Electric Company (HECO) grid to support utility interactive inverters and controllers. List of qualified equipment.

Since the launch of the Conext XW Pro inverter/charger in early 2019, Schneider Electric has been continuously expanding its utility interconnection approvals, and HECO’s Rule 14H is the latest addition to grid code compliance. XW Pro now complies with:

Because of the island’s high cost of electricity and plenty of sunlight, Hawaii has embraced solar energy. The state has one of the highest rates of solar power generation per capita in the United States, and its goal is to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2045. A recent report shows that 19% of residential customers in Hawaiian Electric's five islands service area are using rooftop solar, up from 18% in 2018.

Bernhard Kiechl, vice president of Schneider Electric’s solar business marketing and research and development, said: “The XW Pro solar + energy storage solution brings Schneider Electric’s ten-year experience in high-quality and reliable residential energy storage solutions to Hawaiian installers and homeowners. "Conext XW Pro's high overload rating and integrated high-speed transfer switch provide seamless and reliable backup power in the event of a grid failure. With HECO Rule 14H certification, XW Pro customers can export excess energy to the grid under the HECO Self-Supply and NEM Plus programs. The compatibility of XW Pro with multiple battery technologies enables solar installers to design flexible systems based on the needs of homeowners. "

Schneider Electric also provides powerful solar + storage monitoring and configuration as well as advanced data security for homeowners and installers. System performance can be accessed from anywhere on a laptop or through a mobile application. Installers will take advantage of features such as multi-site management and remote firmware upgrades.

I just installed this new XW Pro and every time the generator is turned off after charging, it trips all arc fault circuit breakers. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this situation?

Hi David, does this inverter have a grid, backup battery and automatic transfer switch?

Hello, what will cause the Conetx incerter/charger to stop selling electricity to the power company

I remember that Schneider Conext was Xantrex in Canada at the time. As early as 2001, Xantrex XW6048 was released for public use. In 2007, I participated in an off-grid remote telemetry/gated site. While reading the Xantrex manual, I noticed that even then, this unit can be programmed as grid-connected, grid-connected backup battery, and off-grid using the same unit. There is also a part about selling the lowest energy to the grid, and people can program in this unit to keep most of the charge generated by solar photovoltaics into the battery pack. I believe that with the launch and hype of the hybrid inverter/charger today, Xantrex shut it down almost 20 years ago. Another thing that surprised me was that the system was able to solve the problem of the surge in load. There are two XW6048 inverters/chargers in master/slave operation mode. If the maximum 12kW surge of a device cannot carry the load, the slave device will start within a few milliseconds and add another 12kW to increase the load. I believe these devices are still online today, with little or no regular maintenance.
