Last year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that electric pickup trucks will become Tesla's next model after Model Y.

Now, Musk revealed some details about the truck when seeking development advice.

At the unveiling ceremony of the Tesla Semi, which later became the unveiling ceremony of the next roadster, Musk also released the first picture of Tesla’s electric pickup truck-as shown above-although some people still think this It's a joke.

He claimed that this is a reduced version of the Tesla Semi, which is "a pickup truck that can carry a pickup truck."

Although this sounds like a joke, Musk has previously mentioned that he intends to use Tesla Semi's work to build a Tesla pickup.

The truck’s plan has been vague, but Musk has been mentioning the automaker’s intention to set foot in pickup trucks for more than 5 years.

Today, Musk asked his Twitter fans for suggestions on features added to the vehicle:

What do you want to see on a Tesla pickup truck? I have some ideas, but what do you think are the small but important nuances, and what will be the next level?

Musk confirmed that “Tesla trucks will be equipped with dual-motor all-wheel drive, with crazy torque and a suspension that dynamically adjusts the load.”

The CEO has been talking about this kind of dynamic suspension.

At a Tesla owner event in 2013, Musk discussed his thoughts on Tesla trucks:

"I am very passionate about building a truck, and I think truck technology can do a lot.

I think one of the things that should exist in a truck is something like an air suspension, which can dynamically adjust the load, and can keep the truck's angle correct and ride height uniform, and adjust the damping in real time. Because for any vehicle that has a huge potential difference between minimum and maximum loads, the challenge you face is that the suspension is always wrong, and often there are many errors.

One day I drove an F-250 off the 405, and to be honest about that... it resonated with the 405 on the ridge of the hill. I thought my teeth were going to rattle from my head. If you put it on it's fine, but if you are empty, it's not. This will be great, and it will obviously make it lighter and able to handle well. This is where a low battery pack can improve the center of gravity. I think it is possible to produce a very good handling truck that feels good at any load point. That's great. "

Musk said that the dual-motor power system will become a standard configuration, just like Model S and Model X, as well as dynamic suspension.

In the advice Musk received today, he considered moving the rear wheels:

As expected, the car will also be equipped with Tesla's Autopilot:

It will automatically park in parallel and have a 360-degree camera and sonar

It sounds like this truck will be big—or at least big enough to have a system to help people get in:

It seems that the back door should rotate on the four-bar linkage and drop to the ground or close. It's a bit like some big trucks.

There is no clear timetable for the release of Tesla pickup trucks, but it sounds like this will be Tesla's top priority after Model Y, which will be released next year and put into production in 2020.

Update: We collected all the information about the truck Musk released last night: Tesla pickup truck: everything we know so far

After Musk said that Tesla did not intend to launch its electric pickup truck before the end of the decade, in a previous column, I thought that “for the sake of the American auto industry, Tesla should launch it and immediately open pre-orders”.

The idea is that pickup trucks are the profit center of all U.S. automakers, and by showing that there is a demand for electric versions of these trucks, just like Tesla did with the Model 3 booking process, it will start their own truck project Electrification work.

Tesla's mission is to accelerate the emergence of electric transportation (and now renewable energy).

I think that Tesla's launch of its electric pickup truck will have a major impact on achieving this goal in the United States.

In all fairness, other companies also have other electric pickups in the making, but I think that due to Tesla's historical achievements on Model S, Model X and Model 3, they may have a better impact.
