Chinese solar module manufacturer Trina Solar listed all inverter manufacturers that have launched new equipment or upgraded products for solar panels based on 210 mm silicon wafers in the past few weeks. According to reports, Huawei, Senergy, Sungrow, SMA, Goodway, King Long and Kstar have all launched or planned to launch centralized or string inverters to better cope with larger and more powerful panels.

Trina Solar, a Chinese solar module supplier, revealed that several major inverter manufacturers have introduced new centralized or string inverters in the past few weeks. The battery board is compatible.

The company said in a statement: “The full launch of the 210-module inverter highlights the environmental and technological interdependence between 210 ultra-high power modules and the 600W+ photovoltaic open innovation ecological alliance. Initiated by Trina Solar.” The alliance was mainly established by Chinese solar companies in June, aiming to cross the 600 W module output threshold.

In its statement, Trina listed all manufacturers that have reportedly announced plans to build or develop new inverters for larger and more powerful modules since the beginning of this year.

For example, the world’s largest manufacturer-the Chinese conglomerate Huawei-should start producing an upgraded version of its SUN2000-196KTL-H3 equipment for the Chinese market at the end of March 2021, and start producing SUN2000-215KTL- for other global markets at the end of the year. H3 May 2021. "Both models increase the maximum current per MPPT to 100 amperes to be compatible with the high current characteristics of the 210 module," Tianhe said.

In addition, in early February, Chinese inverter manufacturer Sineng Electric reportedly launched a new string inverter called SP-250K-H for this new market segment. Sungrow said that its centralized SG3125HV inverter and SG225HX and SG250HX string inverters are now fully compatible with 210mm solar modules.

In addition, Germany-based SMA stated that all its centralized inverters and two string inverters, SHP 150 and STP 110, are now also compatible with more powerful products. Tianhe said: “Gudewei, Kinglong, Costa and other inverter manufacturers have also announced the availability of inverters compatible with 210 ultra-high power modules,” Tianhe said, but did not provide more details.

Trina Solar will begin production of the first batch of modules using 210mm wafers in January 2020.
