Queensland company Redback Technologies has a new look, plus a new inverter and battery products designed specifically for the Australian market.

Redback Technologies was established in Brisbane in 2015, and from the beginning, it aimed to design components and systems suitable for Australian conditions.

If you visit Redback's website this morning, you will get this greeting:

But just a few hours ago, as part of its brand relaunch, the packaging of the new website was cancelled. There is a beautiful new logo that does not look like a redback spider at all to beginners. Personally, I think spiders are cool-but maybe arachnophobia will be different.

It's not just a new look.

Previously, the company's Redback inverter products were limited to hybrid inverters as part of its battery storage system. With the introduction of the Redback smart inverter, this has been expanded-single-phase solar inverters with 5, 6, 8, and 10kVA (kW) output, equipped with smart meters and Wi-Fi dongle as standard.

The Redback Smart Inverter data sheet can be downloaded here.

Redback Technologies has also expanded its smart battery line by launching two new models. In addition to the existing SB7200, the new SB9600 has a nominal storage capacity of 9.6kWh, and the larger SB14200 provides a storage capacity of 14.2kWh. The Redback Smart Battery data sheet can be downloaded here.

I may have missed it. Although the maximum storage capacity is stated on the data sheet, the usable capacity is not stated.

The active output rating of SB9600 and SB14200 is 4.5kW, while SB7200 is 3.3kW. All three models can provide backup power in the event of a power failure, in which a backup circuit is connected and battery energy is available.

In addition to the new smart battery products, the existing smart hybrid and smart hybrid three-phase modular systems and other product lines still exist, which can provide up to 28.4kWh of storage capacity

The new inverter and battery system will be available in Australia at the end of next month.

But that's not all-Redback Technologies has also substantially increased the warranty period of its products-the warranty period for all products has been increased from 5 years to 10 years. Warranty work is carried out by Redback or other suitably qualified technicians on site; or at non-site authorized maintenance facilities.

Although the warranty only applies to the original location, they can be transferred to the new owner of the house.

Mr. Matweew said that the rebranding opened the next chapter of the Redback story.

"The entire Redback team is very proud to prove that Australian local start-ups have the space and opportunity to enter the highly competitive solar market and make a difference," he said. "I think our very Australian approach, based on relationships, focus on local support and community involvement is what makes us stand out-this is how we hope to continue to have a positive impact in powering a cleaner tomorrow."

There are many references to Australia in Redback's announcement and website, but it should be noted that its equipment is made in China (not to say that there is definitely a problem).

If you own one of the company’s products, you can leave a comment on Redback inverters and Redback solar cells here.
