SolarEdge is launching a series of new commercial inverters, which are now available for rooftop, ground-mounted, and carport applications in North America. The production line includes 120-kW, 100-kW and 80-kW three-phase inverters for 480V power grids, and 50-kW three-phase inverters for 208V power grids, all inverters can achieve up to 150% The DC overcapacity.

The system improves uptime through modularity and independent work units. By introducing a pre-commissioning function, installers can verify system components through a smartphone before connecting to the grid. To avoid module performance degradation, the solution includes a built-in night PID (potential induction degradation) rectifier.

SolarEdge said that this new product provides an additional layer of protection through built-in thermal sensors on the DC and AC terminal blocks and field-replaceable surge protection devices.

"We are proud to provide our customers with innovative technologies to improve the economics of large-scale photovoltaic installations through scalable DC optimization," said Peter Mathews, general manager of SolarEdge North America. "Our solution meets the North American C&I department’s increasing demand for energy production, design flexibility, advanced safety and security, and real-time, high-resolution monitoring. It also aims to help reduce installation time, BoS (system Balance) costs and O&M expenses to increase the profitability of installers."

There are plenty of video interviews and other content on our YouTube page. Recently we launched Power Forward! - Cooperate with BayWare to discuss higher-level industry topics and best practices/trends for operating solar business today. Our longer-running side project is The Pitch-we have awkward discussions with solar manufacturers and suppliers about their new technologies and ideas so you don't have to. We discussed everything from residential trackless deck connections and home solar financing to large-scale energy storage value stacking and utility-driven new home solar + storage microgrids. We also posted our annual project announcement there! Interviews with this year’s winners will begin in the week of November 8. Go there today and subscribe to learn about all this extra content.
