Combining these two devices can create a hybrid system that combines photovoltaic power generation and energy storage without the need to add additional solar photovoltaic inverters. In addition, Ingeteam's hybrid inverters are combined with BYD batteries to allow operation in off-grid, backup (UPS) and self-use modes. Therefore, for grid-connected systems, the solar energy generated during the day can be stored for use at night, thereby providing the highest possible self-consumption rate, and because it can operate in a standby mode (UPS), the power supply is maintained in the event of a grid interruption.

BYD's high-voltage lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery has a capacity of 5.1 kWh to 22.1 kWh (depending on the model) and is designed for residential and commercial use. Its patented modular plug-in design makes it possible to connect different battery modules without wiring, making installation very fast and easy.

Specifically, the following BYD battery models are compatible with Ingeteam hybrid inverters: HVS (5.1, 7.7, and 10.2) and HVM (8.3, 11.0, 13.8, 16.6, 19.3, and 22.1).

As far as the Ingeteam inverter is concerned, it can connect a battery pack and two photovoltaic arrays to the same unit, thereby reducing the cost of the entire system. It has two PV inputs, each with its own maximum power point tracking system (MPPT), allowing it to manage up to 11.5 kW of power from solar panels, which can be installed on the roof in both directions. This 3 or 6 kW single-phase transformerless inverter is designed for residential and commercial installations. In addition, the inverter comes standard with an EMS control system, enabling it to deploy advanced functions without adding other equipment for additional control.

Thanks to the Ingecon Sun Monitor software developed by Ingeteam, the monitoring of the hybrid system can be carried out easily and intuitively. The software allows access to all data of photovoltaic installations, batteries, etc., so that the user can fully control his/her power consumption.
