Tesla has added solar inverters to its sustainable energy product lineup, effectively improving the company's energy production and storage lineup. So far, Tesla has not launched its own inverter, but has used third-party products.

The new Tesla inverter converts solar direct current into household alternating current. The inverter uses the highly successful Powerwall 2 technology and will be used in conjunction with other Tesla solar products, and will also provide Wi-Fi, Ethernet and cellular connections through the company’s acclaimed wireless updates.

Tesla provides 3.8 kW and 7.8 kW inverters, allowing owners with different energy needs to equip them with inverters suitable for the size of their houses. This is similar to the way Tesla sets up its solar panel system, providing several different sizes to allow customers to use a system that is just right, neither too big nor too small.

Tesla wrote about the new product:

Since acquiring Solar City in 2016, Tesla has been involved in the sustainable energy market. Since then, it has become one of the most popular names in the solar and energy storage fields, and it has achieved success not only in the residential market, but also in commercial projects. Tesla has seen a steady increase in its solar deployment during each quarterly earnings conference call, which is very beneficial to the company's prospects. Tesla's solar project is one of the most affordable projects in the country, and its price is about 1/3 lower than the national average.

How Tesla's solar project became the cheapest project in the U.S.

In addition, Tesla offers its solar products in the form of loans and subscriptions, which can keep prices low and allow homeowners to test whether solar products are good for their homes without the need for long-term commitments or expensive price tags.

The advantage that Tesla now offers its own inverter means that the entire setup will run on Tesla products. The fact that Tesla can use its own products to equip homes with solar energy is very suitable for vertical integration and also helps control future costs. In addition, the inverter’s ability to connect to Wi-Fi and Tesla applications will only improve its performance over time, as it may be subject to wireless updates in the future.
