This Isuzu Fargo 4x4 camper is an old JDM RV that you can actually use

Small campers in Japan provide weird options for those who want their campers to be different. But getting one usually means dealing with outdated technology and looking outdated interiors. This 1995 Isuzu Fargo Alamo camper is pleasantly surprised because it is an old JDM camper with a modern style. This is an old RV that you can actually use.

I have introduced many excellent JDM campers before. One is a multifunctional C-class camper modified by Mitsubishi Delica. The other is that a huge bus becomes a rolling hotel room. But many of these campers have a disadvantage, that is, you can't really use them for many off-grid camping. This Isuzu Fargo Alamo camper car not only has some updated technology on Cars & Bids, but its interior looks very modern.

The Isuzu Fargo is a commercial truck manufactured between 1980 and 2001. Although not as famous as their contemporaries, some of them turned into campers and C-class RVs, as you can see here. This car has a short wheelbase and a cute blocky appearance, and people love these Japanese convertible campers.

Who can forget some rad graphics.

There is not much luxury inside. There are no chandeliers and no luxurious materials. But it does look a little modern. Everything needed for a good road trip is included, including a kitchen and bathroom. Put some indoor plants and curtains there, and you will have some benefits for those unrealistic Instagram camping photos.

The RV has also undergone a series of modifications to make it more suitable for modern camping. You can get some good equipment using off-the-shelf parts:

The partial modification list reported by the seller includes a pair of Renogy 100 watt solar panels, a Renogy solar panel controller, a Renogy DC/DC charger, a Krieger 3000 watt inverter, dual-house batteries and updated switch panels, and After-sale refrigerator.

Sellers say that they have not drained the battery, so they can't say how long this setting can last when off-grid. But they said the solar panels should recharge the battery within three to four hours. If these batteries are dead, they can be charged through the alternator of the motorhome.

The advertisement does not state the capacity, but please note that the hatch on the side of the camper is used for water, electricity, and propane.

The Fargo platform offers some features...but there are some caveats. Power comes from a 4FG1 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder non-turbocharged diesel engine that can produce 90 horsepower and 57 kilogram-feet of torque.

It is manually driven by the rear wheels or four wheels with five speeds. Contributing to off-road capabilities are the two-speed transfer case and the manual locking of the front wheels. Low power means that the top speed is obviously only 108 km/h. But at least it averages about 24 miles per gallon.

According to the advertisement, the camper was imported in 2019 and purchased by the seller in March. Interested buyers should note that the shoes worn by this baby have a 2010 date code. So there must be a problem with the new tire.
