The two fastest electric cars in the world-Tesla Model S Plaid and Rimac Nevera-recently met at Famoso Dragstrip in California.

DragTimes had a rare opportunity to play three rally races between the two, and each race was easily won by Nevera. This is not surprising, because the Croatian supercar’s quarter-mile record is 8.582 seconds, while Tesla’s is 9.247 seconds. The 0.9 second difference translates into a major gap on the track.

In the first race, the faster reaction time of the Tesla drivers showed us that even with a little lead, the check pattern still cannot match Rimac Nevera. The results are as follows:

Rimac Nevera's destruction of the Tesla Model S Plaid is completely expected. This is a four-motor electric super sports car (US$2.4 million) with a peak system output of 1,408 kW (1.4 MW), while Plaid is equipped with three electric motors, and the total system output is up to approximately 760 kW.

Earlier, we saw how the Tesla Model S Plaid destroyed the Porsche Taycan Turbo S equipped with two motors and a total peak system output of 560 kW.

One might say that the match with Rimac Nevera is a kind of revenge, because Porsche is a shareholder of Rimac Automobili.

Anyway, we have it-the fastest electric supercar and electric flagship sedan on the market.
